Love Aaj Kal - Music Review

Love Aaj Kal - Music Review

Love Aaj Kal’ has many sheds of love, todays as well as yesteryears and so the music of the film has been framed keeping in mind those factors. As it is coming from the house of director Imtiaz Ali, music composer Pritam and lyricist Irshad Kamil who has given Bollywood the remarkable soundtrack ‘Jab We Met’, expectations of the music goers is sky high. Being an experienced actor Saif Ali Khan knows very well how much important music is for any film. As it is his first productional venture, in no way, he will compromise with the story and music. He has done what best he could do to make a soulful music. He has roped in music director Pritam for making the album best in every regard.‘Love Aaj Kal’ has every flavor of music. Romantic, emotional, peppy, fun perfectly tuned and soothing to the ear. The album has altogether seven songs and two remixes sang by versatile singers like Sunidhi Chauhan, KK, Neeraj Shridhar, Mohit Chauhan and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Each and every song has its own specialty and purely situation based. ‘Love Aaj Kal’ is touted to be the hottest film ever and its music the best in the chartbuster. Pritam has left no stone unturned to bring out a poignant music. The first track ‘Aahun Aahun' opens with the sweet guitar string. It is very mesmerizing and catches our ear as soon as it starts playing. The song is a blend of Hindi and English mixture and beautifully synchronized and it is a 100 percent hit in all ways. When the song will come with the picturization then the effect will be double. It will be a treat to watch. Singers Neeraj Sridhar, Master Saleem and Suzanne set the perfect mood of the song with their youthful voice. The remixed version of the song is sure to heat up the dance floor. The second track opens with a light hearted song ‘Chor Bazari’ by Neeraj Sridhar and Sunidhi Chauhan. It’s a peppy number and full of fun. Set in the backdrop of Delhi Chor Bazar, the song gives you a unique feel of the city. Lyric is very simple and Neeraj and Sunidhi have done full justice to the song. It’s a foot tapping number and purely funny, quite impressive. The remix track of the song sounds average not able to impress like the original. The third track ‘Yeh Dooriyan’ touches the chord of our heart on first hearing. It gives the similar feeling like ‘Tum Se Hi’ from ‘Jab We Met’. As well assessed from the wordings, it speaks about distance and separation of the two hearts. Very impressive and sends a feeling of love, pain and separation. Well written and well sang by singer who is known for his romantic best Mohit Chauhan. After hearing, it will entice you to croon again and again as it has a gentle breeze of love. The fourth track, ‘Ajj Din Chadheya’ by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan comes as a gentle breeze. Very peaceful and immediately connects to the soul. Lyric by Irshad is equally captivating. Purely Indian, the song starts with a small alaap. Its runs very smoothly and stays longer with us. You will fall in love with first hearing. The album continues to rule. The fifth track goes as 'Thoda Thoda Pyar'. It’s a marriage song in the voice of Sunidhi Chauhan. It has a feel of 60’s and 70’s shaddi song. It has perfectly created the mood of a Punjabi marriage house with their unique tune and words. Total foot tapping number and the instruments of dholak and tabla were much prominent. Nothing special but sounds like any other marriage song. Here the album scores little low.KK makes his presence felt with the sixth track of the film 'Main Kya Hoon'. It is a peppy number, very fast and full of energy. The next track that follows is ‘Twist’ by Neeraj Sridhar. It is a foot-tapping number with loads of beats and rhythm. Average to hear.‘Love Aaj Kal’ is an album worthy buying and listening. Scores really high and includes all the ingredients to hit the chartbuster. ‘Aahun Aahun’, ‘Ajj Din Chadheya’ and Yeh Dooriyan are the gems of the album.

Yash Raj steals ‘New York’ script, claims Suchitra

Scriptwriter Suchitra Bhatia claims that ‘New York’ was her story which she has penned three years back and even narrated the script to Yash Raj Films Arjun Sablok. Suchitra expressed her shock that Yash Raj has made a film on the script written by her without her knowledge. Her story titled, Osama – A Love Story.Suchita said, “I wrote to Aditya Chopra in August 2006 regarding two stories I had. He asked director Arjun Sablok to get in touch with me. He contacted me and we fixed up a meeting at the YRF studio. On September 1, I met Arjun and narrated two story ideas to him. He was extremely happy with the stories. I still remember him exclaiming ‘Wow!’ I kept writing to him, but there was no response and I gave up as I got busy with other work. To my surprise, after three years, I saw New York and was disheartened to know what they had done: using my story without even informing me, let alone give me any credit.” Suchitra said that she has written to Aditya Chopra and Arjun Sablok but did not get any reply from them. She has registered her script with the Writer’s association in 2006 and filed a complaint with the association. However, Arjun Sablok denies the news and claimed it is nothing more then a cheap publicity by the scriptwriter.

Kareena to kick Saif’s butt

Kareena to kick Saif’s butt

Bollywood goes bold. If Saif Ali Khan has touched Deepika Padukone’s butt in ‘Love Aaj Kal’ and Kareena Kapoor kissed Akshay Kumar 10 times in ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ then why not Bebo can kick Saif’s butt. Yes, in a rare situation, Kareena will kick Saif’s butt in ‘Agent Vinod’. The duo will be seen in an absolute dynamic role performing various types of action. As they are going to play Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in the Hollywood remake of ‘Mrs and Mrs Smith’, the duo is going to do all that Brangelina has done. Like Saif, Kareena too plays a spy in the film. Kareena always desires to play Angelina Jolie in ‘Lara Croft -The Tomb Raider’ someday and her dream has been fulfilled by her beau by offering her ‘Agent Vinod’. Apart from kicking butt, Bebo will go every inch to make her role more convincing then Angelina. To get into perfect shape, Kareena is undergoing rigorous training. She has some striking action sequences with Saif. Confirming Bebo’s news, Saif said, "She does play an undercover agent from another country. Kareena will do everything I do in the film, and she’ll do it even better. She will kick butt better than all the other girls in our industry, that’s for sure".

Deepika regrets speaking about her love

Maximum couples in Bollywood prefer to remain tightlipped on their relationship but Deepika Padukone from the first day onwards spoke candidly about her relationship with Ranbir in public but now she is repenting on making her relationship an open matter."When we got into a relationship, we decided to be open about it. Otherwise there would be reports about us being spotted holding hands, kissing, hugging, etc. Since we were so clear about our relationship, we had nothing to hide. I thought people would respect that. But it didn't work out that way," Deepika said.Deepika is very depressed about paparazzi following them and taking their pictures. "We both have families and very respectable families. People who take pictures of us secretly must have families and boyfriends and girlfriends. We've now decided not to talk about our friendship. At the end of the day no one is going to see our films because we're a couple," said the actress.Being a promising newcomer and a couple, she receives many offers with Ranbir as co-star but did not sign any of them yet as they are waiting for the right script. Apart from ‘Love Aaj Kal’, she has in her kitty Sajid Khan’s comedy ‘Houseful’.

DNA test confirms rape charges in Shiney Ahuja case

Bollywood News : The DNA report of Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja, arrested for alleged rape of his domestic maid, on Monday has confirmed that the victim had been raped, police said.
"The DNA report has confirmed rape of the victim," said Additional Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta.
"The report has corroborated the allegations in the FIR that the actor had raped his domestic help," Gupta added.
The blood and urine samples also suggested that the actor was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs when he allegedly committed the crime.
The actor is lodged in Arthur Road jail after a court remanded him to judicial custody for raping the 20-year-old maid at his residence on June 14. He was arrested the next day.
The medical examination of the victim, who hails from Roha in Raigad district, had shown injuries on her private parts.
The medical report of Bollywood Actor Shiney Ahuja had also shown an abrasion on his hand. The victim is just 38 kg while Ahuja is 76 kg. Since Ahuja is double the weight of the victim, he might have easily overpowered and raped her, a police official said.
Also, nail samples of the victim have been sent for forensic tests to gather corroborative evidence in the case, police said adding that the report is still awaited.

Musicians and singers from Bollywood were no different as they came together to mourn over the big loss.Pritam - It's a sad day in the history of world music. May his soul rest in peace. We have lost a hero but Michael Jackson is immortal. Through his music, his legacy will live forever. Ironically, I am working on a project which needs funk pop music. So at least ten times a day, I keep telling this to my musicians - 'Let's make it like MJ', 'Let's do it the way MJ would have done it' It's so sad. He was so young. It's so hard to believe that he is no more.Sunidhi Chauhan - Michael Jackson's demise is the biggest loss ever to the music industry.Shankar Mahadevan - No one can fill the musical void that has been created due to his death. Sorry for all the harassment, thank you for all the music.Shekhar Ravjiani - There can be only one Michael Jackson. It's hard to believe that he is no more. I was so looking forward to his show; more so because it was on the same venue where I had performed on 'Unforgettables' tour with the Bachchans last year. It would have been a surreal feeling to now be a part of the audience and seeing Michael on the same stage. He has been an inspiration for so many musicians out there and is one of the main reasons why I too became one. He has been a true icon.Sophie Chaudhary - It's hard to express this feeling of great loss. An inspiration, a pure genius, a musician par excellence and the greatest entertainer that the world ever saw. Riya Sen in Nauka Dubi

Riya Sen in Nauka Dubi

Riya Sen finally has a film she can tell her illustrious grandmother the legenadary Suchitra Sen about. In Kolkata for the last 3 weeks Riya has been shooting for Rituparno Ghosh adaptation of Rabindranath Tagore's Nauka Dubi. It's been a career-changing experience for the saucy Sen"I'm sitting with my grandmother telling her proudly about Nauka Dubi," Riya said on the phone from Kolkata. "My entire career I've been known as this sexy chick and offered roles accordingly. I've been dying to do a Bengali film. When Rituda who's currently my bestest friend in the world, offered me Nauka Dubi I decided to put my entire soul into it. I hope it pays off." The role is that of an ordinary Bengali housewife. "Not like my sister Raima in Chokher Bali and Parineeta where she was all dressed in finery. I wear no jewellery no makeup and ordinary cotton sarees in the traditional style." Ritu not only had to teach her how to tie the saree in the routine middleclass way, but also several household chores like cutting vegetables, pouring them intothe vessel, squatting on floor, sweeping and cleaning.Says Riya, "Contrary to my image I love cooking. Raima had learnt all of that for Aparna Sen's The Japanese Wife. And in any case she has that kind of a wholesome image. But what would audiences think when they see me do all this? They'll be so thrilled…And to hear me speak in Bengali. Wow! It's music even to my ears." Initially Ritu had warned Riya her voice would be dubbed. "He thought I wouldn't be able to carry off the middleclass Bengali diction. But when he heard me speak he said he'd retain my voice. That's really cool." Cool, because every Mumbai actress from Kirron Kher to Aishwarya Rai to Manisha Koirala who has worked for Ritu has had her voice dubbed."Raima shared a very special bonding with Ritu-da. Now I share it too."Will we get to see the two sisters together in Nauka Dubi? Sighs Riya, "Unfortunately…no. This is our first film together and Ramie and I don't have a single shot together. When audiences see it they'll know why."Interestingly Raima and Riya have a healthy rivalry on the sets to get their director's attention.Laughs Rituparno Ghosh, "They're both such lovely girls. Riya unnecessarily has a wild image. She's as capable of playing a Bengali housewife as Raima. I adopted Raima long ago. She's my daughter. No one can take her place. But Riya is my niece now. Both the sisters shower me with attention on the sets. I feel blessed."

#fullpost{display:none;}

But the audience interest about it seems to be multiplying day by day as inside details are being leaked out. We managed to find out one such inside info about Aishwarya Rai's character in the film. Our sources reveal, "After having learnt sword fights for her English movie The Last Legion, Aishwarya has been training herself in Karate for Endhiran. A noted stunt master Ramesh who has been running a Japan Shito-Ryu karate school in the South for over 30 years, which is affiliated to the World Karate Federation is training the actress for the movie. Ramesh is teaching Aishwarya the basics of Karate for now. In the movie Aishwarya Rai and the other girls in the film will be learning Karate from her hero. Rajnikant is already trained in Karate so he will not have to train himself. Some interesting scenes were shot recently in the VIT University in Chennai." She took her skills forward in Ashutosh Gowarikar's Jodhaa Akbar. Her trainers have always been enamoured by her quick learning skills. Apparently Ramesh was also charmed that the actress was able to repeat the karate movements easily.Ramesh has also acted in Mani Rathnam's Iruvar (1997) which was Aishwarya Rai's first ever film. He has also acted in over 400 movies made in South India since 1986 with almost all the leading heroes of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages.

Amitabh Bachchan Blog Latest Post : concern for women in sports

Amitabh Bachchan Blog Latest Post : concern for women in sports

Amitabh Bachchan is presently in London shooting for Paa. In his free time he has been exploring London and also managed to experience a few matches of the ongoing Wimbeldon. But then post his viewing experience he has expressed his concern about the disparity between men and women in sports."The large silver golden cup for the men… the semi gold silver tray for the ladies. A disparity here as well, apart from the difference that their prize money entails. I believe a women group is working on the equal distribution of the prize money at tournaments. But for those that continuously make themselves vocal on the disparity and make politically correct noises, let them know that this a manifestation of our age old history and tradition. It may not be feasible to adhere to the sentiment that I have expressed. But for those that scream and shout on the imbalance, that propagate equality for political gain, would they ever wish to take up this issue at all.. I would imagine not. Because… politically it may not suit them." he writes updating his blog.He further adds, "The charge would be that sport is an elitist occupation, certainly as far as its commercialism is concerned and there really is no space for the genuine deserving potentials."Bachchan feels, "Today the Indian Cricket team boasts of several members that have come up from meagre means and from areas in the country that could be specified as small town. Not too many years ago, 90% of the team would be from Bombay now Mumbai. There were facilities and schools for upcoming players. But all that has undergone a sea change. Today 90% of the team is made up of those that belong to small town India. Poor but traditional and a bit conservative. The lure of big money as the IPL's of the world take shape, is a huge incentive for upcoming stars.""One has to wonder then, whether it is the love of the game, or the love of the money behind the love of the game, that attracts. Not an unreasonable argument. So if the money is an attraction for the budding talent, what is wrong in giving equal opportunity to the women of the game and procure incentive for them as well.. And while we are talking equal and incentive, it may be wise to consider at this moment why there is disparity in the reward for their game." Big B concludes.Bachchan Sr. has also hinted at taking a poll on this topic.

Jaswinder Singh New Album 'Yeh Ishq Nahin Aasaan'

Jaswinder Singh New Album 'Yeh Ishq Nahin Aasaan'

Sensational and young Ghazal Nawaaz Jaswinder Singh is back with his new album Yeh Ishq Nahin Aasaan. He is Born to the famous music director Kuldip Singh of Saath Saath (Tum ko dekha toh yeh khayal aaya…) and Ankush fame ( ltni shakti hamen dena daata).1. Tell us about your new album?'Ishq nahin Aasaan' is my third album. It comprises of seven Gazals and one Nazm. All the Gazals are written by the veteran Shayars - Mirza Ghalib, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Jigar Muradabaadi, and the nazm is by Nazeer Akbarabadi. Music is composed by my father and guru Kuldeep Singh. Mood of the songs is light and romantic. Album has the classy poetries with strong content. It is simple Gazal album executed with modern touch. We hope new generation will like it. 2. What it takes to be a Gazal singer? To be a Gazal singer one should at least be rigorously trained classically for eight - nine years. One should have the knack of sher-o-shayeri, correct diction, knowledge of Urdu language and should be versed with Gazals. To attain all this it takes around 10 to 12 years and our generation has no patience. They memorise few songs, enter reality shows and become star. Gazal is indeed a tough genre.3. Are you as romantic as your Gazals?Gazal singer has to be romantic because he sings the romantic genre. The title of my album suggests no matter what you are in love with, be it your work, god or your girlfriend, you have to struggle to attain that love.4. How is your equation with Javed Akhtar and Kaifi Azmi? They are like my family. I got to know Kaifi Azmi through one show, he is very encouraging. Javedji keeps guiding me all the time. 5. Do you think Gazal will ever attain the popularity that of 80s?I am sure gazal ka daur phir aayega. I don't agree that people do not like Gazal. In fact it has to be re-positioned with the support of media.6. As Gazal singer of the Hip hop generation what do you do personally to keep the genre alive? I have done many Gazal shows in India as well as abroad and trust me I have received very good respond from people of all generations. And again through this album I am trying to reach out to them.
